App User Interfaces and Websites
This is our bread and butter, our 9-to-5, but that doesn’t mean we’re any less passionate about it! ☺ We provide translations of user interfaces for several big Brazilian brands and we count a plethora of different services among our clients. Whatever the sector, we’ve got it covered – from dating and social media, through to video and music streaming, cloud services, transportation and food delivery. Looking further afield? We transcreate content for TV ads, from supers to voiceovers, and also taglines. We make sure that the copy flows well in the target language, fits the timing and that the taglines convey the original message. Cultural Insight
Sensitivity Reports
We are native speakers who know their markets inside out. Armed with these insights, we were asked to create a report for one of the main video streaming services about touchy subjects, including religion, politics and violence. Our report provided the client with insider knowledge, helping them gauge which shows might spark controversy online and in real life—intentionally or not!
Market Research
Before developing a new product, many companies carry out market research with local customers. For this, they develop concepts to be tested in the target market and this is when we come in, not only do we translate the concepts, but we also offer cultural insight, advising if something doesn’t sound quite right. The concepts are usually accompanied by back translations, so the client has an idea of what the translation says, even if they are not fluent in the target language.
Cultural Consultation
Marketing a product or service in another country and culture can be a minefield so we help clients with all aspects of cultural consultation. Sometimes, they just want to check if a product name will work, making sure it doesn’t have any unfortunate connotations, and how the name will be pronounced. In other instances, they want to understand if their entire campaign or ad concept makes sense in the local market, if there are any cultural sensitivities that should be taken in consideration and sometimes even whether the actors and the music are suitable.
