A background in language and journalism
Bruna is a Brazilian translator and transcreator based in Portugal. She has worked in translation and transcreation since 2011, bringing a background in journalism to the way she researches context, questions assumptions and develops a message.
She holds a journalism degree from PUC-Rio and a master's degree in journalism from ESCS. Her work spans marketing localisation, review, cultural consultation and language management.
Experience on both sides of the brief
Working as a linguist and managing language projects calls for different kinds of attention. A line needs to read naturally, but it also needs to reach the right people, meet the brief and fit the workflow around it.
Our approach connects those concerns. We clarify the audience and target market, resolve language questions with your team and consider the content in the setting where people will actually read or hear it.
Brazilian and Portuguese collaborators
Our collaborators are native Brazilian and Portuguese linguists. We work into the target language and bring the appropriate market perspective to each brief. Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese are treated as deliberate choices, with shared terminology aligned where useful.
Many of us have lived between languages and cultures. That experience makes us attentive to what a message assumes, what may need explaining and what might change when it crosses a border.
What you can work with us on
Our services include English-to-Portuguese translation and post-editing, creative transcreation, linguistic QA and localisation audits, and Brazilian and Portuguese cultural consultancy.
We work with brands and agencies on product interfaces, websites, advertising, social content and cultural questions around communication. Tell us about your audience and content; we will help define a useful scope.
